【主题演讲-1】流动化学技术-提高药物研发效率
 
【主讲人-1】刘承鑫
 
       裘槎剑桥国际奖学金得主,剑桥大学有机化学学博士生二年级。
 于 2013 年毕业于伦敦帝国理工学院,取得化学系本硕连读学位,并在就读期间(2012-2013)在阿 克苏诺贝尔公司(AkzoNobel)实习,主要负责产品研发。其硕士论文课题为天然产物全合成,师 从 Prof. Donald Craig。同年,他取得裘槎剑桥国际奖学金(Croucher Cambridge International Scholarship)并于剑桥大学攻读有机化学博士学位,指导导师为 Prof. Steve V. Ley FRS。目前, 他的研究领域为流动化学于医药合成的应用,现负责项目的合作伙伴为葛兰素史克(GSK)、诺 华(Novartis)等医药公司

        裘槎剑桥国际奖学金得主,剑桥大学化学生物博士生三年级。
2012 年,毕业于英国剑桥大学,取得自然科学(化学)学士和硕士学位,其毕业论文师从 Dr. Alessio    Ciulli,主要研究表观遗传学。同年,他被授予裘槎剑桥国际奖学金(Croucher    Cambridge
International Scholarship)并留校修读化学生物学(Chemical Biology)博士学位。在 Prof. David
Spring 的指导下,他的研究项目为化学选择性和位置专一性蛋白修饰,并与英国医学研究委员 会分子生物学实验室(Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology)和剑桥大学生物
化学系(DepartmentofBiochemistry)的研究小组保持紧密合作。

Two talks will be given at 5:30pm 19/4/2015 at Lecture Theatres 5 (LR5) of the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge,  

Talk one title:

Expediting the drug development process using flow chemistry

Michael Lau received his MSci in Chemistry with a Year in Industry from Imperial College London in 2013. Under the supervision of Prof Donald Craig, his final year research project focused on the total synthesis of nature product. In his industrial placement, Michael spent 12 months working at International Paint Ltd., AkzoNobel, where he investigated the development of marine biocidal antifouling paints. In October 2013, he was awarded the Croucher Cambridge International Scholarship to pursue a PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Prof. Steven V. Ley FRS. He is currently working on the synthesis projects of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) using flow chemistry in collaborations with pharmaceutical companies, for instance, GSK and Novartis.

Talk two title:

Chemical biomolecule modification – Synthetic strategies towards improving pharmaceutical biologics

Terence Kwan received his BA and MSci in Nature Sciences (Chemistry) from the University of Cambridge, where he conducted research in the field epigenetic under the supervision of Dr. Alessio Ciulli. In 2012, he was awarded the Croucher Cambridge International Scholarship to pursue a PhD in chemical biology under the supervision of Prof. David Spring. His current project revolves around site- selective protein  modification  and  has close  collaborations with  research  groups at the  Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Department of Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge.
